Our sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your father. As you may remember Don, Paul is originally from Decatur too, and I have a special place in my heart for the Decatur fire dept for their response to my home fire years ago. May God bless and watch over you in your time of grief.

Don: My condolences upon the loss of your Dad. Even though we're in the business it does not make the loss of our loved one any easier. You and your family are in my thoughts.

On behalf of all the members of the Decatur Association of Disabled and Retired Firefighters, we want to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Lee O. "Sturg" Sturgis, Jr.
We have sent a memorial gift to The Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, North Carolina to help provide summer camp to children with health care needs to honor Sturg's love for children and for camping.
We have many memories from his long career on the Decatur Fire Department and the work he did as a member of IAFF Local 505. He will be missed.

I always enjoyed stopping at the firehouse where ever Lee was. He was always laughing and telling stories. I took my two children into the firehouse often on my days off so they could see what the firemen had, which was always better then what the police had. I am proud to say my son is now a firefighter in Ottawa, Il. I give thanks to the firefighters like Lee who would show my kids what a firefighter was all about. Those memories will last forever. Our prayers will be with you all.
